New Attitude 2007

Community Group/Family Group:
This was definitely one of the highlights for me. I was blessed to have my own pastor, Mr. Rogers, as my community group leader. It was encouraging to learn about applying and reading and studying God's Word. We were told to read a passage and ask yourself three questions:
1. What does this passage tell me about God?
2. What does it tell me about my need for a Savior?
3. What does it call me to do in response?
We took a look at various passages, prayed the passage, discussed it, journaled about it, and talked about what it meant to us. This was done in our family groups. I was also blessed to have my friend Nate leading my group. Amazing man of God with much wisdom to share. My group was so uplifting and challenging to me...A couple various things I wrote down they said: God is working even in the moment we fall short and He has already figured out how to use it for our good....His forgiveness is complete, not just partial much like our forgiveness as humans...we are no longer servants, but friends...The importance of not focusing on material things....so much more. It was such a blessing to me. I loved just one simple question that one of the group members asked me: "So, what are you going to do to change it?" And I guess for me, that is what alot of this time was for me....reading,studying,desiring, and DOING SOMETHING ABOUT IT.
Church family:
I have the best one in the world. I adore my pastor's wife and her words of encouragement, inspiration, and love. I love the people, the dance parties, the good talks, the praying, the breakfasts, the pictures, the fact that we all have something to offer and we can bring it back and honor God by honoring each other. Just there's too much for words but wow....
I am blessed!
Worship Times:
So uplifting. The spirit was moving. I opened my eyes at one point and the whole place was people, youth/teens/college/young couples lifting their arms to God and it was powerful. God spoke. God convicted. God took things and cares and concerns from me. God promised. God delivered. God was THERE. I learned some new songs....amazing lyrics...."And we praise You, lamb that was slain, and offer our lives to proclaim WHAT A SAVIOR!" "How beautiful the blood flow, how merciful the love shown, King of Glory poured out, victorious are we now"
Hallelujah, we want to lift You higher.
Messages/Sermons:
Personal. Convicting. Encouraging. Deep. So much to take in...this part of the summarizing is difficult. The two main messages to speak out to me....One was about idols of the heart. WOW. OUR GOD IS SO GRACIOUS. He tells us our sin with such grace. I am amazed at my sinfulness and His graciousness. It leaves me without words. There was an incredible message about discerning our doctrine...was very good because I so often am discouraged or overwhelmed at all the arguments between denominations. An amazing look at 'gray matters' revealed the fact that since I am made to magnify Christ, I must do this in ALL areas...and all matters. So much information though....it is hard to even type about it. C.J. left us with the applying message, which showed us to "apply one bit of Scripture to one area of life" How practical! The messages are available for download on the Na website so you guys should check it out. [www.newattitude.com]
