It's 12:00 in the afternoon but my mind feels like it does at 2:00 in the morning with thousands of thoughts going every different direction.
Today there is a family in Ohio mourning the loss of a 30-something-year-old brother.
Today there is a family in GA mourning the loss of a father.
Both unexpectedly.
Both without any previous "sign" of medical or health problems.
There are 2 children left without a father. And a family left without a brother and son.
There is a wife left without a husband and now faces being a widow and raising two children.
WITHOUT ANY NOTICE.
WITHOUT A SINGLE WORRY IN THE WORLD BEFORE IT HAPPENED.
I'm so reminded of the pain and sorrow that it is to lose someone.
I haven't gone through a day where I don't think of my cousin. I miss her and I miss that she "could be" finishing up school and starting pharmecy school.
I still have days where in the back of my mind I ask God why.
Why He'd take my cousin at 20 or why He'd take my friends mom from them.
I've been following a story online, which all of you should read about a sweet baby that went Home to be with Jesus just hours after her birth. (www.audreycaroline.blogspot.com)
And I've read and seen and heard about
so
many
people's
lives
being
changed
by
grief.
and then I was thinking the other day at church...
JESUS KNOWS SORROW.
If you look at the story of Jesus in the garden before the crucification, He asked God if it was possible to take the pain and sorrow away from Him. He was in the most sorrowful state of mind, because He had been rejected by one of His followers, He was physically suffering, He was given up by God, and felt forsaken. In the midst of all of this, HE KNEW PAIN. HE KNEW SORROW. AND HE KNEW QUESTONING.
He's been there,
He IS there.
Jesus knows your sorrow, because He's been there.
He's asked and begged with everything in Him...
"What shall I say? Father Save me from this hour?"
IT WAS FOR THIS VERY REASON I CAME TO THIS HOUR, FATHER GLORIFY YOUR NAME." (Jn. 12:27-28)
In the midst of pain and sorrow, may His name be glorified.
And didn't You see me cry'n?
And didn't You hear me call Your name?
Wasn't it You I gave my heart to?
I wish You'd remember
Where you sat it down
Chorus:
And this is all that I can say right now, i know its not much.
But this is all that I can give, yeah thats my everything.
This is all that I can say right now [right now], i know its not much.
But this is all that I can give, yeah thats my everything.
Bridge:
I didn't notice You were standing here
I didn't know that
That was You holding me
I didn't notice You were cry'n too
I didn't know that
That was You washing my feet "
--All that I can say, david crowder band--
you are not alone.

here are some more verses on what the Bible says about your body if you look at these and say it doesn't speak against tatoos then that is your opinion
What the Bible has to say About Your Body
It's NOT yours!
12 “Everything is permissible for me”—but not everything is beneficial. “Everything is permissible for me”—but I will not be mastered by anything. 13 “Food for the stomach and the stomach for food”—but God will destroy them both. The body is not meant for sexual immorality, but for the Lord, and the Lord for the body. 14 By his power God raised the Lord from the dead, and he will raise us also. 15 Do you not know that your bodies are members of Christ himself? Shall I then take the members of Christ and unite them with a prostitute? Never! 16 Do you not know that he who unites himself with a prostitute is one with her in body? For it is said, “The two will become one flesh.” 17 But he who unites himself with the Lord is one with him in spirit. 18 Flee from sexual immorality. All other sins a man commits are outside his body, but he who sins sexually sins against his own body. 19 Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit, who is in you, whom you have received from God? You are not your own; 20 you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body. I Corinthians 6:12-20
It is created in God's image
Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, in our likeness, and let them rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over all the earth, and over all the creatures that move along the ground.” 27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them. Genesis 1:26-27
Whoever sheds the blood of man, by man shall his blood be shed; for in the image of God has God made man. Genesis 9:6
It was created for God's glory
Bring my sons from afar and my daughters from the ends of the earth— 7 everyone who is called by my name, whom I created for my glory, whom I formed and made.” Isaiah 43:6-7
It is God's Craftsmanship
For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do. Ephesians 2:10
It is fearfully and wonderfully made
For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. 14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well. 15 My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place. When I was woven together in the depths of the earth, 16 your eyes saw my unformed body. Psalm 139:13-16
It should be God's tool for righteousness
Do not offer the parts of your body to sin, as instruments of wickedness, but rather offer yourselves to God, as those who have been brought from death to life; and offer the parts of your body to him as instruments of righteousness. Romans 6:13
It is an appropriate and reasonable gift to God
I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. 2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. Romans 12:1-2
It is eternal
And if your eye causes you to sin, pluck it out. It is better for you to enter the kingdom of God with one eye than to have two eyes and be thrown into hell, 48 where their worm does not die, and the fire is not quenched. Mark 9:47-48
So will it be with the resurrection of the dead. The body that is sown is perishable, it is raised imperishable; 43 it is sown in dishonor, it is raised in glory; it is sown in weakness, it is raised in power; 44 it is sown a natural body, it is raised a spiritual body. I Corinthians 15:42-44
May God himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through and through. May your whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. I Thessalonians 5:23
Satan wants it damaged and dead
When Jesus got out of the boat, a man with an evil spirit came from the tombs to meet him. 3 This man lived in the tombs, and no one could bind him any more, not even with a chain. 4 For he had often been chained hand and foot, but he tore the chains apart and broke the irons on his feet. No one was strong enough to subdue him. 5 Night and day among the tombs and in the hills he would cry out and cut himself with stones. Mark 5:2-5
You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father’s desire. He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. John 8:44
They had as king over them the angel of the Abyss, whose name in Hebrew is Abaddon, and in Greek, Apollyon. Revelation 9:11
After you're married, it belongs to your spouse
The wife does not have authority over her own body, but the husband does; and likewise also the husband does not have authority over his own body, but the wife does. I Corinthians 7:4
Don't cut it; don't defile it
You are the children of the Lord your God. Do not cut yourselves or shave the front of your heads for the dead, 2 for you are a people holy to the Lord your God. Out of all the peoples on the face of the earth, the Lord has chosen you to be his treasured possession. 3 Do not eat any detestable thing. Deuteronomy 14:1-3
But Daniel resolved not to defile himself with the royal food and wine, and he asked the chief official for permission not to defile himself this way. Daniel 1:8
Don't tattoo it
Do not cut your bodies for the dead or put tattoo marks on yourselves. I am the Lord.
Leviticus 19:28
Learn to control it and keep it holy
It is God’s will that you should be sanctified: that you should avoid sexual immorality; 4 that each of you should learn to control his own body in a way that is holy and honorable, 5 not in passionate lust like the heathen, who do not know God; 6 and that in this matter no one should wrong his brother or take advantage of him. The Lord will punish men for all such sins, as we have already told you and warned you. 7 For God did not call us to be impure, but to live a holy life. I Thessalonians 4:3-7
Treat the less honorable parts of it with special honor
On the contrary, those parts of the body that seem to be weaker are indispensable, 23 and the parts that we think are less honorable we treat with special honor. And the parts that are unpresentable are treated with special modesty, 24 while our presentable parts need no special treatment.
I Corinthians 12:12-24
Treat it as representing Christ
We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf: Be reconciled to God. II Corinthians 5:20
whose anonymous i'd really like to know???and discuss via email or something
also, one word: context. being bought with a price doesn't really have to do with tattoos. sorry. and it belonging to my spouse when i'm married doesn't have anything to do with tattoos. and yes, the lev. verse, the ONLY ONE people use because it's has the word tattoo in it......I really don't think it'd make me any less of a Christian, etc. to have a tattoo. JUST SAYING. but i want to know who this is!
ok so lets see if I can explain. I am a friend of a friends. my friend Camber is friends with your friend maggie. I got to your blog through hers. I do not have a blog right now. I live in Thatcher,az My dad is a pastor in the first baptist church here.
I do not want you to think that I am judgeing or condemming you. I know people who are good Christians and have tatoos. I also know people who regret getting tatoos and say that they wish they had never gotten them. one reason to consider is that during the tribulation, it will be necessary to have a tatoo in order to buy anything. It will be the sign of the antichrist.(I can find the scripture for this if you want) I am not saying that this makes tatoos bad, because it doesn't. but it is still something to consider.
The reason why being bought with a price is relevant is because that means our body's do not belong to us they belong to God if we are Christians. I don't think that getting a tatoo or not is vitall to Christianity. also as I said before, if you look at the Bible and pray and think that it is ok for you to get a tatto then go ahead. I personnaly think that it is clearly in the Bible that we shouldn't but I don't want to be legalistic if you think I am please tell me.
rspectfully,
Carissa Burk
