So Kelsey and I were talking the other day about things that are okay or not okay to pray for.
First off, we wondered if there's even such a thing as "things not okay to pray for."
This conversation all started because a friend of ours, whom we love a whole stinkin lot most days, was being pretty rude to us and really kind of ridiculous on a lot of levels. That night when I was talking to God (this is how I'm going to refer to prayer, because I used to pray all like it was me talking to God, but now I pray by talking how I'd talk to someone if they were right next to me.) I was like, "You know I don't even know if it's okay to pray for this, but I feel like I do a lot of really nice things to bless ___ and sometimes I don't feel appreciated at all. And no, I don't normally bless ___ so ____ will bless me back, but tonight I didn't want to clean his kitchen, I just thought it'd be nice and that maybe for once ____ would do something nice back to me and Kelsey, so if it's okay to ask for ___ to bless me, then please have ____ bless me. If that's not okay to pray for, and it's selfish, let me know too. And if ___ doesn't bless me can you at least make _____ bless Kelsey?!" That's really how it went with me and the Lord. I'm sick of people telling me that you can't talk to God like that, because I'm a friend of God, so why can't I speak to Him exactly how my heart would if my heart could speak?
Anyways. Any opinions on if it's "okay" to ask God to have someone bless you?
